How eCommix imports works?

eCommix - Google Sheets Sync is a powerful tool that automatically imports your Google Sheets store data into your Shopify store:

Prerequisites

Before you get started, ensure you have connected Shopify and Google Sheets.

1. Create your Import

Once you have installed eCommix in your store and configured your Google Account connection, you can start importing your data. Navigate to "Imports" and click on "New":

2. Select a Dataset

Choose the dataset you want to edit and import. In this example, we'll use "Products":

3. Apply Filters

If you don't want to extract and edit all your products, you can apply filters. Click on the "Edit" button:

Then add as many filters as you need. For example, only products in stock:

4. Name your Google Sheet spreadsheet

Before exporting your products to Google Sheets, you have the option to rename the spreadsheet:

5. Export Shopify data to Google Sheets

Click on "Export" when you are ready. The export process may take a few seconds to a few minutes, depending on the number of rows being extracted and inserted. This will create and populate your spreadsheet with products:

Once completed, click on the created import to view its details. You will see the number of rows inserted into Google Sheets and the time taken for the execution:

Click on 'Open' to see the results:

All the products matching your filter criteria will be displayed:

6. Edit a Product attribute

In Google Sheets, let's update the "Status" of the first 4 products from "DRAFT" to "ACTIVE":

Once the update is complete, let's go back to eCommix and click on Import:

Confirm the change:

A new execution of type "Import" is added, since you are moving changes from Google Sheets to Shopify:

After the execution is complete, 4 rows have been processed:

Back in the sheet, we see that the STATUS_MESSAGE column at the end marks the 4 edited products as "UPDATED":

As an example, we can confirm that the product "The Minimal Snowboard1" is now ACTIVE in the Shopify Admin:

It might happen that we introduce errors. For example, let's say we mistakenly edit the "Status" to "INCORRECT STATUS" on the first product:

In those cases, after importing, the rows will be highlighted with an error mark, along with the root cause of the issue, allowing us to fix it:

Additionally, you will be notified about these errors in eCommix as well:
