Discover how to efficiently manage and analyze products from your Shopify store. Learn to use the Products dataset to generate detailed lists of items that meet your specific criteria.

Export Results

Your products are the goods, digital downloads, services, and gift cards that you sell. You add a product in Shopify by entering product details and uploading product images. If your product has options, like size or color, then you can add a variant for each combination of options.

Using the Products dataset, you can retrieve detailed information of these items.

Product Filters

If necessary, you have the option to restrict the number of returned items by applying filters to the export. The following fields are available for this purpose:

  • Product Type (Product): The product type specified by the merchant.

  • Title (Product): The title of the product.

  • Vendor (Product): The name of the product's vendor.

  • Status (Product): active, archived, draft.

  • Tag (Product): Tag associated with the product.

  • Created At (Product): The date and time when the product was created.

  • Updated At (Product): The date and time when the product was last modified.

Product Metafields

Metafields can be utilized to tailor the functionality and look of your Shopify store by enabling you to store specific information that is not typically recorded in the Shopify admin. These metafields can serve for internal tracking or to showcase specialized details on your online store in various formats.

To export metafields for products, simply input the metafield namespace and key values:

You can get these values from the Product metafield definitions page in your Shopify Admin:

For the given example, you would need to input these namespaces and keys, along with a descriptive header name to locate it in the sheet:
